Special Memories
What are some special memories you have with your father? I’d love to hear them.
If you father is still here, then be sure to celebrate him, visit him, call him on the phone if he is not local to you. It’s important to keep in touch while he’s here.
My dad passed many many years ago and I miss him terribly but some of my favorite things to do with my father, especially when I was little, but even as an adult were playing putt putt golf, card games like gin rummy, crazy eights, spades, and so many more, Yahtzee – he was the king of this game and totally hilarious. He really got into the games. He taught me how to ice skate when I was about 5 on a lake and took me cane fishing. We watched baseball and football and went to the park. Also, it’s nice to take a moment and reflect back especially since he is no longer with us. It feels good to bring a smile to my face.
For many of us, our father’s helped shape who we are, what we believe and how we act.
As a result, whether your father is present, absent, or remembered in spirit, today can be a day of honoring the role he played in your story.
